Italian language and holiday
“Italiano, no problem!” Course
(10 Italian language lessons focused on practical situations + 5 lunches with a teacher)
Course structure:
There are many people who love to come to Italy on holiday.
Sea, mountains, cities of art, great food, fashion and many more interests draw millions of people to choose Italy as their holiday destination every year.
This course is designed for absolute beginners or students of A1 level who want to learn the basics of the Italian language to be able to be independent during their holiday.
Lessons are individual or in small groups of maximum 3 people of the same level.
About the course:
Students concentrate on the Italian language in class in the morning or around the streets of the city. The teacher provides the necessary tools for students to be able to speak in practical situations such as ordering in a restaurant, booking a hotel, asking information in the streets, presenting themselves and shopping or going food shopping in the market.
The direct teaching method used by the ABC school for more than 40 years means that everyone starts to express themselves in Italian after a few hours.
After the lessons students eat lunch in a trattoria or in a small restaurant in the city centre with their teacher to continue to speak Italian in a nice and relaxing way over a delicious dish and a glass of wine.
In the afternoon also students from the “Italiano: no problem!” Course have the possibility to participate in the integrative activity program organised by the school if they would like to. This is to get to know other aspects of the Italian culture or to visit Florence with a teacher who is also a licensed tour guide.
Lesson times:
From 11:00 to 12:30 – Italian lesson in class or in the city with a teacher
From 12:45 to around 13:40 – lunch together in a trattoria
Changes to the timetable are possible during certain times of the year and/or for other reasons from the school but will be promptly communicated with the students.
In the afternoon students are free from lessons to have the opportunity to either explore Florence by themselves according to their own interests, or to take part in the socio-cultural activities organised by the school.

Families with children
Course structure
Italy is a tourist spot chosen by many families with children every year and we have also created a course especially for them.
If parents would like to study Italian language in class, they can easily do it whilst their children have lessons adapted for children with another teacher in a secure environment.
About the course
We would recommend parents to choose either a group or individual course which only takes place in the morning so that their children do not stay at school for too many hours.
In another room the children can learn Italian through games, music, videos or short texts adapted for their age.
During the lunch break it is possible to organise activities to discover Florence which appeal to the whole family. We can visit the Museum of Children in the Palazzo Vecchio, go on a walk in the historic centre to get to know the secrets and legends of Florence, go to the Boboli Gardens or go on a gelato tour to try the best flavours in the city. We can also enjoy ourselves by organising a cooking lesson in which the children can also participate actively, eating the food which we have cooked afterwards.
Lesson times
The lesson times vary depending on which course the adults have chosen.
If you choose a Standard Group Course, classes start at 9:00 and finish at 12:30.
If you would prefer to attend an Individual, Duetto or Trietto course dedicated exclusively to the family, the lesson times are completely personalisable.
Course duration
The minimum duration of all courses at the ABC school is one week.

Honeymoon in Florence
Every year many couples decide to pronounce their vows in Florence and celebrate their wedding in one of the most elegant halls of the Palazzo Vecchio, the Boboli Gardens, the Bardini Museum, in one of the city’s charming historical buildings or even in one of its monumental churches.
There are even more newlyweds who organise their honeymoon in Italy and who spend a few days in Florence.
Our Honeymoon in Florence Course is made especially for them, with a program that can be personalised to meet the couple’s needs.
What we offer
There are many possibilities offered by a city rich in culture and beauty like Florence. If newlyweds are looking for something original that transforms the event into a unique experience that enriches them also from a personal growth point of view, they will be spoiled for choice.
Our basic course combines the study of Italian language (two lessons per day in the morning) with visits to the most famous museums or monuments in the city as well as walks in the historic centre with a teacher from the ABC school who is also a licensed tour guide.
To this you can also add wine, oil and other typical Italian product tastings, cooking lessons and dinner together, concerts at the new Opera theatre in Florence, Spa and wellness programs, poolside cocktails (in summer), panoramic walks in the hills and excursions to other Tuscan cities as well as more activities on request.
In the case that the couple do not have any Italian language knowledge, the studying can finish with the acquisition of basic knowledge which will make the continuation of their trip in Italy more interesting. However, if the spouses have a higher level of knowledge, the course will focus on improving or deepening certain aspects of the language, emphasising the communicative and practical aspects: do not forget that it is still a holiday!
Accommodation
We know that accommodation during a honeymoon is particularly important.
The ABC school can help a couple to find an elegant apartment in the historic centre, or an exclusive hotel if they prefer.
Start dates and course duration
Naturally the start date and the duration of the course are up to the couple, but there is a minimum of 5 days of lessons.
Price
It is not possible to give a price now because it can notably vary depending on which activities you would like to do and the number of days you would like to stay.
Of course we are more than happy to create personalised programs for the couple.
All courses have an additional registration fee of 60 euros which is valid for a total of 12 months + variable fee depending on the duration of the stay.
Locations
The honeymoon course is available in Florence and in Sestri Levante and it is possible to combine the two courses to get to know Tuscany and Liguria better.
