The school

The ABC school was established in Florence in 1982 by a group of experts in teaching who decided to dedicate themselves to Italian language and culture for foreigners.

The great experience gained over the last 40 years means that we can provide interesting study programs to students on both the language and the interesting cultural aspects which are linked to it: from art to cooking, fashion to literature, history to traditions, music to current events.
To guarantee that students learn intensively and that teachers can attentively follow the progress of each of the students, classes have a maximum of 10 students (minimum 3).
We can be found in an ancient and prestigious building in the Oltrarno district very close to Ponte Vecchio and the piazza della Signoria, an excellent place to get to know the marvelous artistic and architectural wonders of Florence. In the afternoon we organise many cultural activities to give students the possibility to visit museums and monuments in Florence as well as going on walks together either in the city centre or in the hills.

In 2015 we were proud to open a new school of Italian language for foreigners on the beautiful Ligurian beach in a building with views directly onto the Bay of Silence, one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy.
Sestri Levante, only a few kilometers away from the famous Cinque Terre, is a colourful and calm town situated on a promontory that divides the sea into two charming bays.
The ABC school in Sestri Levante uses the same direct teaching method as in Florence which makes sure that students speak Italian from the very first day of lessons. Lessons take place with a maximum of 8 students (minimum 3) for a particularly intense way of studying.
During the summer Sestri Levante is an important port however those who love the sea know that it is just as beautiful in any season and there are always many activities available such as trekking in the hills, diving, boat tours, food and wine tastings and visits of other Ligurian cities.
Many of the Italian language courses are available in both locations: our intention is that our students can get to know Italy, giving them the possibility to stay in both Liguria and Tuscany whilst maintaining the same teaching method and materials used in class.
To organise an Italian languange course you only need to write to one of the two schools and we will take care of everything else.
